Marienbrunnen (Krefeld)

The Marienbrunnen is located on Dionysiusplatz at the Catholic Church of St. Dionysius in Krefeld , a former burial place laid out in 1756. The bronze statue on the Marian column is dedicated to the Holy Mother Mary .

The design comes from the architect ME Schneiders, Krefeld municipal building authority. The sculptor was Wilhelm Ohly from Munich. The bronze sculpture was cast by the Brandstetter foundry, Munich. The fountain consists of two octagonal well basins. It was inaugurated on July 23, 1922. On the fountain is the inscription:

The Schwanenmarkt shopping center extends southeast . There are other Marian columns in Uerdingen and Fischeln .
