Marienburg Monheim
The Marienburg is a privately owned brick building built as a country house in the city of Monheim am Rhein .
The building has a park designed in the style of an English garden with old trees, which is owned by the city of Monheim. Both the Marienburg and the park are under monument protection .
history
The country house was built from 1879 to 1880 according to a design by Cologne architect August Carl Lange in the Cologne neo-Gothic style as a summer apartment for the Cologne district judge and member of the Reichstag, Eugen von Kesseler . With the Marienburg, the client wanted to commemorate the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights Order of the same name in West Prussia.
Today the Marienburg mainly serves as a conference and congress center as well as a venue for various celebrations. Civil weddings are also possible on the premises of the building.
Conference center
At the beginning of 2011 the Marienburg Monheim became a conference center. It includes a barbecue academy, a guest house and various restaurants such as a whiskey and wine lounge and a tapas bar.
Marienburg Monheim can also be booked for weddings and other private celebrations.
