The Lady Chapel in the hamlet Ruggisberg in the municipality Häggenschwil in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen was the abbot of the monastery Obermarchtal Niklaus II. In 1684 to commemorate the victory over the Turks at Vienna in 1683 commissioned.
history
The chapel was inaugurated in 1685 by the auxiliary bishop of Konstanz .
In 1883 the Catholic parish of Häggenschwil acquired the chapel for CHF 1068.54.
Furnishing
The partly marbled, partly gilded baroque high altar shows a part from the battle of the Turks near Vienna. Above the painting is the coat of arms of Abbot Nicholas II.
The altar is flanked by painted wooden figures of the bishops Martin von Tours (patron of the mother church in Arbon) and Nikolaus von Myra (patron of Abbot Nicholas II).
On the left wall of the chapel there is a baroque ray Madonna, on the right wall of the chapel there is an ornate crucifix .
