The Marienkapelle in Kempten (Allgäu) near the Villa Huber is a listed house chapel made of brick. It was built in 1898/99 according to the plans of the builder Hugo von Höfl . It has a slightly drawn-in polygonal choir closure and a facade tower.

altar

The so-called Maggmannshofer Altar stands in the chapel. It was brought to Kempten from the Maggmannshofen area near Gschnaidt in 1880 and may have originally come from the St. Georg monastery in Isny or it is a former side altar in the Frauenzell parish church.

In the shrine , which was renewed in 1898 , a multi-figure high relief by Daniel Mauch from around 1510/15 can be seen. It is about the depiction of the coronation of Mary , surrounded by the five choirs of the patriarchs (top left King David , John the Baptist , Moses ), apostles and martyrs (top right Peter , Paul , John, Stephen ), confessors (bottom left saint Dominic and Francis , Anthony the Hermit , Severus , Hieronymus , Augustinos ) and virgins (below right Saint Catherine , Barbara , Margareta , Agatha ).
