from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lady Chapels on Góra Chełmska (Gollen) as well as Revekol and the Holy Mountain near Polanów are dedicated to St. Mary and have developed into important pilgrimage sites throughout their history .

history

The two Marienkapellen on the Gollen and the Holy Mountain near Pollnow were probably built after the mission trips (1124 and 1128) of the Bamberg bishop Otto . The first written mention of the Marienkapelle on the Gollenberg comes from the year 1263. The first pilgrimage to the Gollen is guaranteed in writing for the year 1352.

Benno speaks of the chapel being destroyed in 1533 and thinks of a fire in the chapel. According to Norbert Buske : “[…] We take the first reference to a chapel on the Revekol from a note according to which a pilgrimage“ to Cussalin, Polnov and Revekol ”was agreed in 1435 on the occasion of a murderous atonement. [...] "

At night a burning lantern was hung on the tower of the chapel on the Gollen, which was used as a beacon in the second row, i.e. H. served as a sea mark.

After it was destroyed, a crucifix from the chapel was hung over the drapery stalls of the Köslin cathedral . Towards the end of the 18th century, two gilded monstrances made of copper were kept in the town hall of Köslin , which had been found on the Gollen and probably also belonged to the chapel.

On the Gollenberg near Cöslin ( Pomerania ), before 1532, probably soon after 1266, On the tower of the chapel, which was demolished in 1532 and already existed in 1266 , a lantern with a large polished" basin "(that was probably presbytery of the chapel - Aut. ) hung up, which gave a “great reflection” to mark the entrance through the deep into the Jasmunder See (about 6 nautical miles from Cöslin) and from there to the city.
