The Marian column in Głubczyce (Leobschütz) in Upper Silesia is a rococo statue made of sandstone with a marble crowning statue . It dates from the 18th century and is located south of the town hall on the south side of the ring, the central market square.

description

The column has a triangular plan and stands on a raised surface. There are accompanying figures on the corners and sides. The figures show St. Sebastian, St. Roch and St. Aegidius. The children's figures stand for faith (fighting a dragon), hope and love (victor over death). At the base there are angels who stand for purity, devotion and humility. Three angel children with the attributes of the Transfiguration sit under the figure of Mary. A metal fence was built around the statue.

The figure of the Immaculate Conception made of white Tyrolean marble stands on a globe above a cloud base with angel heads. A snake winds its way around the globe, the head of which is pierced by a cross. The figure has a wreath of stars around its head and a crescent moon under its right foot.

The sculptor of the statue is Anton (ij) Jörg from Neisse .
