Marijonas Visakavičius

Marijonas Visakavičius (born January 17, 1944 in Lokėnai , Ukmergė district ; † February 4, 2019 ) was a Lithuanian and Soviet politician .

Life

From 1958 to 1960 Visakavičius was a farmer in the collective farm . From 1960 to 1963 he studied at the technical center for agricultural mechanization in Ukmergė . Then he did the Soviet Army service. From 1966 to 1969 he worked in Obeliai , in the linen factory Ukmergė, the state farm in Leon Polis , from 1970 to 1990 as an operator in chemical company " Azotas " in Jonava , from 1975 to 1979 as a construction worker in the jonava district municipality . From 1989 to 1990 he was People's Deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (as a candidate in the constituency Kėdainiai -Jonava) and from 1992 to 1996 a member of the Seimas .

From 1967 to 1989 Visakavičius was a member of the CPSU , from 1990 of the Lietuvos democinė darbo partija . In 1990 he became head of the trade union association Lietuvos laisvųjų profesinių sąjungų konfederacija ( Lietuvos profsąjungų centras ).

His grave is in Lokėnai cemetery.

Visakavičius was married. With his wife Marija he had children Edmundas, Natalija and Erikas.
