Marina Brogi (born July 15, 1967 in Rome ) is an Italian economist and university professor .

Career

Brogi attended the Roedean School , a private school in Brighton . After graduating from high school in 1984, when she focused on mathematics and natural sciences , she studied economics at the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan . There she graduated in 1988 under Tancredi Bianchi as a Laurea in Political Economy . She then researched and taught at the university before she was appointed full professor at La Sapienza University in 1998 . Between 2011 and 2017 she was Vice President of the University's Faculty of Economics.

Brogi's work focuses on the areas of capital markets and corporate governance , particularly with regard to banks and bank management.

Brogi performed various tasks as a representative of the scientific and academic sector, for example as an advisor to the Italian Parliament , the European Securities and Markets Authority and the Banca d'Italia .
