Marinus van Aalst (born September 18, 1947 in Rotterdam ) is a sculptor and object and installation artist .

life and work

The autodidact , who grew up in Böblingen , has been doing artistic work since 1975, initially devoting himself to painting before he quickly found object art. He is a member of the Württembergischer Kunstverein and the Böblinger Kunstverein, where he was second chairman from 1990.

Works by van Aalst have been bought up by the public sector on various occasions, including the cities of Böblingen, Herrenberg and Leonberg. In the public space there are various of his fountains created as part of the art in architecture . His exhibition Schutzraum in the Schlossberg tunnel in Böblingen caused a particular stir . Currently, van Alst has created memory rooms for the cemetery chapel in Böblingen .
