Mario Bonić (born August 4, 1952 in Dubrovnik ) is a former Croatian football player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Bonić started his career at NK GOŠK Dubrovnik . In 1973 he moved to Dinamo Zagreb , where he played for seven seasons. With Dinamo he was twice runner-up and once Yugoslav cup winner.

For the 1980/81 season he moved to Greece to Apollon Smyrnis . After two seasons with Apollon Smyrnis, he joined the newly promoted Panachaiki in 1982 . With Panachaiki he was relegated in 1983 from the highest Greek league .

Bonić then moved to the Austrian first division club SV Austria Salzburg for the 1983/84 season . He played his first game for Austria Salzburg in the 1st division in March 1984 when he was in the starting line-up against FK Austria Wien on the 17th matchday of that season and was replaced by Gerhard Perlak in the 58th minute . He played a total of six games in the top Austrian league. After the 1983/84 season, he ended his career.

As a trainer

Bonić briefly trained AO Proodeftiki in Greece in 1997 and 1998 .
