Mario Carbone

Mario Carbone (born May 12, 1924 in San Sosti ) is an Italian photographer , cameraman and documentary filmmaker .

Life

Carbone studied photography and went to Rome in 1955, where he quickly gained a reputation for portraying social issues; He started out as a cameraman in film, was a cameraman from 1961 - until 1969 - and worked in parallel on numerous of his own documentaries , which he has focused on since the 1970s. Also in 1962 he was one of the numerous short film directors for I misteri di Roma ; It was not until 1982 that he had another production based on his own script draft.

In 1964 Carbone won a Nastro d'Argento for his short film Stemmati di Calabria .

In 2010 an exhibition of his photographs from the 1950s and 1960s took place.
