Mario González (born May 27, 1950 ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Right-back González was a member of the Peñarols squad in the Primera División from 1970 to 1979 . During this period he was Uruguayan champions with the Aurinegros in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979. The club from Montevideo also won the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores in 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1978 and won the Trofeo Teresa Herrera in 1974 and 1975 .

National team

González was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed 16 international matches between May 23, 1972 and April 28, 1976. He did not score a goal in his international career. González was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 1974 World Cup . There it was not used in the course of the competition. He also took part in the 1975 Copa America with the Uruguayan team .
