Trofeo Teresa Herrera
The " Trofeo Teresa Herrera " is a friendly football tournament that has been held since 1946 in the Galician city of A Coruña . The Spanish first division club Deportivo La Coruña is a regular participant .
history
The tournament has been organized by the Municipality of A Coruña since 1946. Deportivo La Coruña has been responsible for managing the tournament since 2000. The tournament is the oldest of its kind in Spain and one of the most prestigious in the world thanks to the numerous large teams that have already participated. Deportivo initially played against a selected opponent before moving to a mode with four teams (starting from the semifinals). The games will be played in the Estadio Riazor , which can seat more than 30,000 spectators. In the second half of August, the tournament is held on two days in honor of the city celebrations. The " Trofeo Teresa Herrera " is an important preparation tournament for the current season, especially thanks to the time immediately before the start of the season.
