Mario Holzer (born September 25, 1986 ) is a former Austrian soccer player .

Career

Holzer began his career at SV Blindenmarkt . In 2000 he switched to SKU Amstetten . In 2001 he came to AKA St. Pölten , where he played until 2005. In 2005 he moved to the regional division FC Waidhofen / Ybbs . He made his debut in the regional league in August 2005 when he was in the starting line-up on the first day of the 2005/06 season against SC-ESV Parndorf in 1919 . In his three years with Waidhofen, he played 68 games in the regional league and scored one goal.

For the 2008/09 season he switched to the league competitor SKU Amstetten. With Amstetten he was relegated to the national league at the end of the season . In 2011 they rose again to the regional league. In the 2010/11 promotion season Holzer completed 28 games in which he scored three goals.

After seven seasons in the regional league, Amstetten rose to the second league in 2018 . In the 2017/18 promotion season he made 25 appearances in the Regionalliga, in which he scored six goals.

In July 2018, he made his debut in the second-highest division when he was in the starting line-up against Floridsdorfer AC on matchday one of the 2018/19 season. After the 2018/19 season he left Amstetten and ended his career.
