Mario Knögler (born July 2, 1979 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is a former Austrian sports shooter .

Career

Before Mario Knögler discovered shooting for himself, he was an excellent indoor hockey player . Due to a knee injury, however, he was forced to give up this sport. Since then, he practices in the shooting sports and operates this since he was thirteen as a competitive sport . He currently lives in Marchtrenk . His disciplines are the Olympic air rifle and small bore rifle . His club is the Wels Police Sports Club and the German Bayern League Club SG Zaitzkofen, where he still actively participates in the competitions.

For a long time he was a sports soldier , a regular soldier at the Linz Army Sports Center of the Austrian Armed Forces .

In September 2012 he married his wife Christine in Bad Abbach (a small suburb of Regensburg in Germany).

His greatest successes so far have been the European championship title with the air rifle in Moscow in 2006 and the European championship title in the small caliber competition 60 rounds lying in Bordeaux 1999.

Mario Knögler represented Austria at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing .
