Mario Löhr

Mario Löhr (* 1971 in Werne , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and mayor of Selm since 2009 .

Life

After finishing school, Löhr completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at Ruhrkohle AG . He later completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk while working . After working in both of these professions, he became commercial director and later an authorized signatory . In these functions he worked at Remondis .

On August 30, 2009, Löhr was elected mayor of Selm with 41.1% of the votes, replacing Jörg Hussmann , who was no longer running for any further term. Löhr's inauguration took place in November of the same year. At the time of his election, Löhr, who has been a member of the SPD since 1998, was chairman of the SPD local association Selm, the SPD city association and the SPD parliamentary group in Selm's city council. In the mayoral election on September 13, 2015, Löhr was the only candidate and was confirmed in office with 79% yes-votes.

Löhr has two children. He lives in Selm.
