Mario Moretti

Mario Moretti (born January 16, 1946 in Porto San Giorgio ) is a former terrorist of the Italian Red Brigades and the murderer Aldo Moros .

Until his imprisonment in 1981 he belonged to the top management of the underground organization, but was not one of the founding circle. He was the head of the "Moro Command" and later confirmed in several interviews that he had murdered the Christian Democratic politician Aldo Moro on May 9, 1978 .

He was released early from prison by means of an act of grace - he was sentenced to six life sentences - and since 1994 he has been conditionally released. Most recently he worked as a data processing coordinator in the Lombardy region .
