Amphoe Lom Kao ( Thai อำเภอ หล่มเก่า ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in Phetchabun Province . Phetchabun Province is located in the southeastern part of the northern region of Thailand .
geography
Lom Kao is located in the mountainous landscape of the Phetchabun Mountains and therefore has a pleasantly warm climate.
Amphoe Lom Kao is located in the north of Phetchabun Province and, viewed from the west, borders in a clockwise direction on Amphoe Nam Nao , Lom Sak and Khao Kho in Phetchabun Province and on Dan Sai and Phu Ruea in Loei Province .
history
Amphoe Lom Kao is located in an area that has been known as Mueang Lom since the first kings of Sukhothai , at least that is what it says on the large stone inscription of King Ramkhamhaeng . During the Rattanakosin period, a large group of Laotians who had fled here from Vientiane lived here. As the population continued to increase due to further immigration from Luang Prabang and Vientiane, the governor of the province suggested the formation of a new city near the Pa Sak River , now the Lom Sak district .
