Amphoe Phu Ruea ( Thai : อำเภอ ภูเรือ , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː pʰūː rɯ̄a ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of the Loei Province . The province of Loei is located in the western part of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Adjacent counties and areas are (from the northeast clockwise): Amphoe Tha Li , Mueang Loei , Wang Saphung and Phu Luang in the province of Loei, Amphoe Lom Kao the province of Phetchabun and Dan Sai District again in Loei. To the northwest lies the Sayaburi province of the Lao People's Democratic Republic .

  • The forest temple Wat Pa Huai Lat ( วัด ป่า ห้วย ลาด ) in the municipality of Santom ( สาน ต ม ).
  • National parks and other nature reserves
    • Phu Ruea National Park ( อุทยานแห่งชาติ ภูเรือ ) - the 121 km² park was opened in July 1978 as the 28th national park in Thailand.
    • The Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary (size 848 km², opened Dec. 1974) is located in the south of the district.

history

On October 15, 1968, Phu Ruea was initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating some parts of the Tha Li , Mueang Loei and Dan Sai district and subordinate them to the Dan Sai district. On April 1, 1974, Phu Ruea got full amphoe status.

Phu Ruea County is divided into six tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 47 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Rong Chik (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ร่อง จิก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Rong Chik.
  • Phu Ruea (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ภูเรือ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Nong Bua.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Nong Bua (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนองบัว ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Nong Bua.
  • Tha Sala (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ท่าศาลา ) consisting of the complete Tambon Tha Sala.
  • Pla Ba (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ปลา บ่า ) consisting of the complete tambon Pla Ba.
  • Lat Khang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ลาด ค่า ง ) consisting of the complete tambon Lat Khang.
  • San Tom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สาน ต ม ) consisting of the complete Tambon San Tom.
