Amphoe Pak Chom ( Thai : อำเภอ ปากชม , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː pàːk tɕʰōm ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Loei . The province of Loei is located in the western part of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Adjacent counties and areas are (from east clockwise): Amphoe Sangkhom of Nong Khai province , the Amphoe Na Yung and Nam Som the province of Udon Thani and Na Duang District , Mueang Loei and Chiang Khan in Loei province Province. In the north is the province of Vientiane of the People's Democratic Republic of Laos .

Important water resources are the following rivers: Mekong (Thai: แม่น้ำ โขง - Maenam Khong, Khong River ) and Maenam Chom (Chom River) .

history

Pak Chom was initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) on September 1, 1067 , when the three tambon Pak Chom, Hat Khamphi and Chiang Klom were separated from the Chiang Khan district . In 1971 Pak Chom got full amphoe status.

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Khon Sa (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คอน สา ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Chiang Klom.
  • Chiang Klom (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียง กลม ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Chiang Klom.
  • Pak Chom (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปากชม ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Pak Chom.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Pak Chom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ปากชม ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Pak Chom.
  • Hat Khamphi (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล หาด คัมภีร์ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Hat Khamphi.
  • Huai Bo Suen (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ห้วย บ่อ ซื น ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Bo Suen.
  • Huai Phichai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ห้วย พิชัย ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Phichai.
  • Chom Charoen (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ชม เจริญ ) consisting of the complete tambon Chom Charoen.
