Mario Nowak

Mario Nowak (born February 20, 1985 ) is a former German football player .

career

Nowak learned the basics of football in the youth department of the Berlin Adler , made the leap into the men's team of the Adler and thus into the highest German league, the GFL . The 1.86 meter long linebacker won the German championship with the team in 2004 and 2009, the EFAF Cup in 2008 and the Eurobowl in 2010 and 2014 .

He was a German national player: at the 2010 and 2014 European championships, he won the European championship title with each selection. At the World Cup in 2007 Nowak was third with the German team and fifth at the 2011 World Cup.

After the end of the 2014 season, Nowak left the Adler and joined city rivals Berlin Rebels . His playing for the Rebels did not last long due to injury. In the opening game of the 2015 season he was wearing the colors of the Berlin Rebels, then he dropped out for health reasons and drew a line under his playing time in competitive football.

In the 2016 and 2017 season he was responsible for the linebackers at the Berlin Adlers as a member of the coaching staff. Nowak took a break in 2018, before the 2019 season he switched to the Berlin Rebels and took up the post of assistant coach again with responsibility for the linebacker position.
