Marion Lau

Marion Lau (born June 26, 1947 in Angermünde ) is a former German SPD politician in Lower Saxony.

Marion Lau attended grammar school, which she left in Berlin in 1966 with the Abitur. She then studied at the Pedagogical University in Braunschweig . She passed her first teacher examination in 1969. After completing her studies, she taught at preschool as well as at elementary and secondary schools. From 1975 until her election to the state parliament, she was employed at the secondary school in Wittingen . She also worked as a specialist seminar leader and specialist advisor for school sports. She had already joined the SPD in 1965. She later became a member of the SPD sub -district executive in Gifhorn and the SPD district executive in Braunschweig. From 1980 Marion Lau was councilwoman of the city of Wittingen, in 1983 she was elected to the district council of the district of Gifhorn . She joined the Lower Saxony state parliament in its twelfth electoral term on June 21, 1990. She belonged to him until 2001 when she was elected district administrator in the Gifhorn district . In 2006 she was re-elected as district administrator for another eight years. In 2014 she no longer stood for election. Your successor is Andreas Ebel ( CDU ).
