Marion Mortefon (born June 1, 1992 in Narbonne ) is a French professional windsurfer . Her greatest success so far is the slalom runner-up world title ( 2019 ).

Life

Mortefon started windsurfing at the age of ten. In 2010 she made her debut at the event in Alaçatı ( Turkey ) and immediately reached tenth place. After initially only taking part in a few events, she has been participating in all the events of the Slalom Tour since 2015 . In the very first “full year” she achieved her first podium place behind Sarah-Quita Offringa at the place of her debut . In 2017 and 2018 she was able to firmly establish herself among the best slalom drivers in the world and came third in the final rankings. In 2019 she was able to achieve the runner-up world title for the first time and was also third in the foil ranking. At the end of the season she was also able to take her first World Cup victory in Nouméa ( New Caledonia ).

Mortefon lives in Leucate . The slalom world champion Pierre Mortefon is her brother.
