Marissa Meyer
Marissa Meyer (born February 19, 1984 in Tacoma , Washington , USA ) is an American author .
Life
Marissa Meyer was born in Tacoma, Washington State, and attended Pacific Lutheran University . There she obtained a degree in creative writing . Before she wrote her first novel, she worked for five years as an editor and wrote in their free Sailor Moon - Fan fiction under the pseudonym Alicia Blade . Under this name she published the novel The Phantom of Linkshire Manor in 2007 .
In 2012 her debut novel Wie Monde so silbern (Eng. Cinder ) was published, the first volume of the Luna Chronicles . It went straight to a New York Times bestseller upon release .
The books of the Luna Chronicles are each based on fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm such as Cinderella , Little Red Riding Hood , Rapunzel and Snow White . Astrid Becker translates the series into German for Carlsen Verlag . According to the author, the film rights to the series have already been sold and a suitable director is currently being sought.
In 2013 Meyer signed a contract with Feiwel & Friends for a novel for young people about the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland . The novel was published in 2016 under the title Heartless , and Meyer's Renegades series began in 2018 and is published in German by Heyne Verlag .
Meyer writes most of her novels as part of NaNoWriMo . She is married and has adopted twin girls.
