Maritime Agenda 2025

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Maritime Agenda 2025 is a long-term strategy of the German federal government for the maritime industry.

tasks

The Maritime Agenda 2025 is a strategic plan for research and innovations, also to integrate the maritime energy transition into the maritime value chain. In order to achieve greenhouse gas neutrality by 2050 , the Federal Government adopted the Climate Protection Plan 2050 in November 2016 . The implementation of the emissions reduction targets initially set for 2030 will pose challenges for the maritime industry. However, this creates opportunities for the development and use of innovative technologies such as B. greenhouse gas reduced or better greenhouse gas neutral forms of propulsion with the fuels LNG , E- methanol , and / or rotor sails or also accumulators for short sea stretches. These technologies in turn enable corresponding efficiency potentials for shipping.
