Racing career

Marius Mestivier was the older brother of the later AC dealer Maurice Mestivier . Marius Mestivier was chief test driver at Amilcar and drove sports car races in the early 1920s . He finished seventh at the Bol d'Or in 1922 (the race was won by his Amilcar team-mate André Morel ) and competed twice in the Le Mans 24-hour race .

Marius Mestivier was the first racing driver to have a fatal accident during the Le Mans race. The first person killed in this 24-hour race was André Guilbert, who had an accident in training for the 1925 race on a Ravel 12CV.
