The Mariveles is a volcano on the Philippine island of Luzon in the province of Bataan . It lies in the Tarak Ridge and, together with Mount Natib, forms most of the Bataan Peninsula, the southernmost part of the Zambales Mountains .
No eruptions of the 1,388 meter high stratovolcano are known from historical times . Investigations using the C14 method have dated the last eruption of the Mariveles around the year 2050 BC. The mountain has a base diameter of around 22 kilometers. In the summit area, the Mariveles has a caldera with a diameter of about 4 kilometers. Several thermal springs spring from Mariveles: Tiis Spring, Saysain Spring and Pucot Spring.
The volcano is rated "Potentially Active" by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
