Marjorie Barnard
Marjorie Faith Barnard (born August 16, 1897 in Ashfield , Sydney , † May 8, 1987 in Point Clare , New South Wales ) was an Australian writer .
Life
After attending Sydney Girls High School, she studied history at the University of Sydney and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts . From 1923 to 1935 she worked as a librarian at the Public Library of New South Wales. From 1942 until 1950 she was a librarian in the library of the CSIRO .
She has written historical works, short stories, novels, essays and a children's book. Together with Flora Eldershaw , she published works in the 1920s to 1940s under the pseudonym M. Barnard Eldershaw .
Her awards included being appointed Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1981.
