Marjorie Lewty
Marjorie Lewty , born as Marjorie Lobb (born April 8, 1906 in Wallasey , United Kingdom; † January 21, 2002 in Leamington Spa , United Kingdom) was a British author of short novels and over 45 romance and family novels , which from 1958 to 1999 published by Mills & Boon .
biography
Marjorie Lobb's parents were James Lobb, a merchant marine and Mabel Lobb, manager of Queen's Cinema in Liverpool . Lobb studied at the Queen Mary High School in Liverpool, founded in 1910 . Her plans to study science at a university were prevented by the death of her father. From 1923 she was forced to take a hated job in the secretariat of District Bank Ltd. until she married Richard Arthur Lewty, a Liverpool dental surgeon, in 1933. They had a son, Simon Lewty, and a daughter, Deborah Bornoff. After their wedding, she began writing short stories that were published in magazines. In 1958 she sold her first romance novel to Mills & Boon. She wrote her last novel in 1999. Her husband died in 1978. She died on January 21, 2002.
