Mark Schierenberg (born August 1, 1972 in Rhede ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Schierenberg came to FC Schalke 04 through the youth stations SV Krechting, VfL Rhede and 1. FC Bocholt . With the miners he made the leap into the professional team. He made his debut in the Bundesliga in the 1991/92 season on matchday 29 in a 3-0 home win against MSV Duisburg . In the following seasons he was used sporadically in the Bundesliga team of Schalke. In 1993 Schierenberg took part in the military world championship in Morocco with the Bundeswehr national team and took third place.

After a year and a half stint at SG Wattenscheid 09 , he returned to Schalke, played two more games and then moved to 1. FSV Mainz 05 , as he expected more time there. After several injuries, he was disabled and ended his career.
