Mark Sheridan

Mark Sheridan OSB (born February 22, 1938 in Washington, DC ) is an American Benedictine monk .

Life

He earned an AB (Philosophy) from Georgetown University in 1960 , a Sacrae Theologiae Licentiatus from the Catholic University of America in 1966 , an STL Pontificio Istituto Biblico in 1971 and a Ph.D. at the Catholic University of America (Coptic Language and Literature). He entered St. Anselm's Abbey, Washington, DC in 1960 (first profession on September 29, 1961; solemn profession in 1964; ordination on February 14, 1965). He was Novice Master (St. Anselm's Abbey, Washington, DC) 1972–1981, Prior (St. Anselm's Abbey, Washington, DC) 1979–1981 Prior, Collegio S. Anselmo 1983–1992. In 2011 he moved to the Dormition Abbey . He taught at St. Anselm's Abbey School (Washington, DC) 1963–1978, at the Cluster of Independent Theology Schools (Washington, DC) 1975–1980 and since 1986 at the Pontificio Ateneo S. Anselmo.
