Architecture and history

The large three-story half - timbered house was built in two sections in the second half of the 18th century. As is typical for half-timbered buildings of this time, the design of the half-timbered elements is significantly simplified. At the same time, the facade is characterized by a large number of windows set close together. The ground floor of the house built on a base can be reached via an outside staircase. On the left side of the ground floor there is a shop fitting with a remarkable framing of the shop window and the door, probably dating from the second quarter of the 19th century. The local tourist information (as of 2017) is housed in the shop.

Between the building and the town hall, a large staircase leads steeply up to the St. Martini Church . From these stairs there is direct access to the first floor of the house. This entrance is provided with a door in the form of Art Nouveau .

In the local register of monuments , the house has been listed as a monument since April 6, 2000 under registration number 094 30417 . The residential building is considered to be culturally, artistically and urbanistically significant.
