Commercial and residential building at Markt 35

The Markt 35 building is a residential and commercial building in Bonn that was built around 1914. It is located on the market square in the center of Bonn . The house stands as a monument under monument protection .

The building was created as a commercial and rental residential building on a medieval plot of land. The house square was first mentioned in a document in 1393; until 1628 the house there was called Zum Esel or (most recently) Zum Eselskop and finally from this year Im Dannenbaum . After the initial vacancy, the first shop in the newly built house was a drugstore from around 1919 , before the "Löwen-Apotheke" (founded in 1628) - the oldest of the Bonn pharmacies - which had been two houses down on the market square in 1929/30. moved in. This is still located in the building to this day.

The residential and commercial building is a three-story building with a mezzanine ( mezzanine ) and a mansard roof in three axes . It has a stone facade with pilasters order and a three-axis Dormer with semi-circular gable. While the ground floor with the shop area has been modernized inside and outside and is therefore not a listed building, the floors above, including the doors and windows, have been preserved in almost their original state. The floors there are made of pitch line boards (as of 1987). The building was entered in the city of Bonn's list of monuments on March 10, 1987.
