Market fountain (Balingen)
The market fountain in Balingen , the district town of the Zollernalb district in Baden-Württemberg , was built around 1550. The fountain next to the town church is a protected cultural monument .
The fountain was erected as a visible sign of the city's affiliation to Württemberg . In the middle of the octagonal stone trough stands a figure of a knight with a ducal-Württemberg coat of arms on a base.
The bronze figure from 1950 is a copy of a stone figure from the 16th century that is kept in the local museum.
