Markus Andreas Landolt

Markus Andreas Landolt (born December 9, 1962 in Accra ) is a Swiss clinical psychologist , scientist , lecturer and author .

Life

From 1983 to 1988 Landolt studied psychology, psychopathology of children and adolescents and neuropsychology at the University of Zurich , where he received his PhD in 1993. phil. received his doctorate. In 2004 he completed his habilitation at the Philosophical Faculty of the same university in the subject of clinical psychology. Since 1987 he has been working as a clinical psychologist at the Children's Hospital Zurich , and since 2004 as a senior psychologist.

After postgraduate training in family therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy he received in 1999 the professional title of Child and Adolescent Psychology, and in 2007 those for psychotherapy . In February 2014, he was appointed to an ad personam associate professor for health psychology of children and adolescents at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zurich.

Services

Landolt deals clinically and scientifically with the effects of different types of psychological trauma on the psychological well-being and development of children and adolescents. He is one of the pioneers of modern child psychotraumatology in Europe and known worldwide for his scientific work. In addition, his research has dealt with the consequences of life-threatening illnesses, serious accidents and malformations in children and their parents.

Landolt's work includes around 140 original articles in scientific journals as well as several book chapters and books. In 2005 he received the Falk von Reichenbach Prize from the German-speaking Society for Psychotraumatology (DeGPT) for his scientific work . Landolt's appointment as a Fellow of the American Psychological Society (APA) in 2010 is a sign of the international recognition of his research .

In 2015, he founded the first university postgraduate course in child psychotraumatology in German-speaking countries (CAS child psychotraumatology) at the University of Zurich . In addition, he has appeared as a lecturer at international congresses and is active in the German-speaking area in the field of further training for psychotherapists. Landolt has been a board member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies since 2015.

Markus Andreas Landolt is also a member of the NGO vivo, which supports persecuted and traumatized people.
