Markus Bütler (born April 25, 1972 in Allschwil ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who played for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the Swiss National League A between 1998 and 2010 .

Career

Bütler began his career as an ice hockey player at EHC Basel . He then played at EHC Olten , with whom he made it to the National League A before moving to HC Lugano . In 1998 he finally moved to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. After eleven successful years, he retired from professional hockey at the end of the 2008/09 season .

On February 15, 2010 Bütler made his comeback with the Lakers, which he reinforced due to many injured players. He made nine games for the club before retiring again from competitive sports.
