Markus Del Monego (born April 11, 1966 in Basel ) is a German sommelier . In 2003 he received the title of Master of Wine in London .

In 1988 he completed an apprenticeship as a hotel manager at the Dorint Kurhotel Bad Brückenau . From 1988 to 1990 he was head sommelier and then assistant director at the Park Hotel Bremen. In 1993 he attended summer courses at Cornell University , Ithaca NY (USA). After working as manager of the dairy in the Bürgerpark in Bremen from 1991 to 1993, he worked in the reception area of ​​the Savoy Hotel , London from 1993 to 1994 and from 1994 to 1996 as hotel manager at Gutshotel Richtershof in Mülheim / Mosel . Since 1997 he has been the owner and managing director of caveCo GmbH and tasteTainment GmbH, Essen .
