Markus Eicher
Markus Eicher (born April 18, 1954 ) is a former German speed skater and successful speed skating trainer.
Markus Eicher was a good all-rounder as an athlete. He was twice (1976 and 1977) German champion and runner-up, once third in the all-around competition. He competed at World and European Championships, but was less successful there.
After his active career, he became a base coach in Inzell in 1985 . In addition to his role as a trainer for the German speed skating club "Frillensee" Inzell, he has also been a national trainer since 1996 . He trains and coached Anni , Jan and Agnes Friesinger and Dino Gillarduzzi , among others . Since the 2006/06 season, a large part of the female German speed skating elite have gathered under his responsibility, similar to the men's team. The protégés include Lucille Opitz and Stephanie Beckert .
