Markus Eichler (born February 18, 1982 in Varel , Lower Saxony ) is a former German cyclist .

Career

Markus Eichler began his cycling career in 2003 with the ComNet-Senges team and was able to draw attention to himself in the spring of the year with a few victories in the UCI Europe Tour .

After a season with the UCI ProTeam Unibet.com , Eichler moved to Team Milram at the beginning of 2008 . There he contested his only three-week country tours so far with the Giro d'Italia 2008 and the Vuelta a España 2010 , which he was finally able to finish in 141st and 114th overall.

After the 2014 season, Eichler ended his career with Team Stölting , where he mainly worked as a contact person for young drivers, and took up a job in sales for the bike manufacturer Specialized .
