Markus Rau (born October 3, 1973 in Wuppertal ) is a former German athlete who was among the top German athletes in the 400-meter run in the 1990s . In 1994 and 1997 he was German indoor champion and German champion in the 4 x 400 meter relay . Markus Rau achieved a best time of 46.54 s. He started for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In 1998 he ended his sports career.
