Filippo Strocchi

Filippo Strocchi (born February 5, 1982 in Modena ) is an Italian actor, singer, musician and musical performer.

Life

Strocchi played drums and guitar and was later a solo singer in several bands. Playing the piano was his passion. In 2003 he began training at the Bernstein School of Musical Theater under the direction of Shawna Farrell, which he graduated with honors three years later. He then received a scholarship to the Guildford School of Acting.

In 2006 he was seen for two seasons as "Danny Zuko" under the direction of Federico Bellone on the National Italian Tour of Grease with the "Compagnia della Rancia". At the Teatro Sistina (Rome) he starred in 2008 in Poveri ma belli under the direction of Massimo Ranieri . He made his German debut in 2009 at the Palladium Theater in Stuttgart as the second cast of Fiyero in the Stage Entertainment production of the musical " Wicked - Die Hexen von Oz ".

In 2010 Filippo Strocchi returned to Italy to be part of Hairspray's national tour for “Planet Musical” under the direction of Massimo Romeo Piparo in the role of “Link Larkin” . In the 2010/11 season he played the male lead "Nick Hurley" on the Italian tour of Flashdance - The Musical . In autumn 2011 he was directed by Marco Simeoli at the “Teatro Sala Uno” in Rome as the young sailor “Anthony” in the Sondheim musical Sweeny Todd . In 2012 he traveled across Italy as "Mercutio" on the Romeo & Juliet tour . In the same year he was again part of the Stage Entertainment team under the direction of Carline Brouwer, as "DJ Monty" in the musical Saturday Night Fever at the "Teatro Nazionale" in Milan . In 2013 he returned to his beginnings and again played his debut role as "Danny Zuko" in Grease , but this time under the direction of Saverio Marconi . A year later, he toured as "Rum Tum Tugger" with the original British production of Cats , produced by David Ian, across Europe and the UK, where he achieved his major objective thereafter, once as a protagonist in the London West End to debut.

In 2015 he returned to Italy to play “Che” in Evita , a Teatro Comunale di Bologna production , directed by Gianni Marras. In December he made his debut as Master of Ceremonies in The Hole at the Linear Ciak Theater in Milan, directed by David Ottone. In the summer of 2016 he was back in Bologna at the “Teatro Comunale” to play the leading role of “Frederick Barrett” in Titanic - The Musical . In the 2016/17 season Filippo returned as "Che" in Evita , this time on a big tour of Italy together with the Italian pop star Malika Ayane . In the summer of 2017 he made his debut in Switzerland in Walenstadt on the Walensee stage , TSW Musical AG, as "Tony Manero" in Saturday Night Fever . Filippo was then part of the 20th anniversary cast of Tanz der Vampire at the Ronacher Theater in Vienna ( VBW ), where he sang the Nightmare solo and was the second cast for "Krolock" (the main role of the play). In January 2018 he again played the role of "Barrett" in Titanic - The Musical , this time in the Ingolstadt City Theater with the Městské divadlo Brno . From March 23 to April 2, 2018 Filippo played the role of "Pilate" in the large concert version of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar in the Ronacher Theater in Vienna with 43 musicians and Drew Sarich as Jesus. In summer 2018 he played the role of "Stacee Jaxx" in " Rock of Ages " in Amstetten (AVB), directed by Alex Balga (played by Tom Cruise in the film ). In autumn, after a premiere in the Musical Dome in Cologne , Strocchi played the first cast of Count von Krolock in the German production of Tanz der Vampire in the “ Theater des Westens ” in Berlin for 7 weeks .

At the beginning of 2019 Strocchi again took on the leading role (Tony Manero) in the musical Saturday Night Fever , in Ingolstadt with the Městské divadlo Brno . In April 2019 he played "Pilate" again in the concert production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Vienna .
