Markus Rothschild

Markus Alexander Rothschild (* 1962 in Berlin ) is a German forensic doctor and head of the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University of Cologne .

Life

Markus A. Rothschild laid in 1981 at Canisius College in Berlin his Abitur from. He then studied human medicine at the Free University of Berlin from 1981 to 1988 and was licensed as a doctor in 1988 . From 1988 to 1995 Rothschild was a research assistant at the Institute for Forensic Medicine at Freie Universität. During this time he received his doctorate in 1989. In 1993 he was recognized as a doctor of forensic medicine. From 1995 to 2001 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Forensic Medicine in Berlin. In 1999 he completed his habilitation in forensic medicine. From 1998 to 2000, Rothschild investigated mass graves in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia . In 2001 he was appointed professor of forensic medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main . Since 2002 he has been director of the Institute for Forensic Medicine at Cologne University Hospital.
