Markus "Toni" Sailer (born April 26, 1968 in Backnang ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

He played for SV Unterweissach until 1988 , then for three years in the association league for TSG Backnang . In 1991 he moved to the second Bundesliga (North Season) for FC St. Pauli , where he scored 15 goals in 32 games. In the following year he played for league rivals MSV Duisburg . He played 30 times that season and scored five goals. Then he went back to St. Pauli. But he could not build on his performance from the first season there. He became a substitute, scoring just one goal in 18 games.

In 1994 he moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers in the regional league. Here he blossomed again, scored 21 goals and became a crowd favorite. He did not reach this mark either in the following year in the regional league or in the three seasons after promotion. The attacker scored 18 times in 98 second division games for the Swabians. In 2000 he was sorted out by coach Michael Feichtenbeiner .

Following his professional career, he played four years in the Oberliga (Baden-Württemberg and Lower Saxony / Bremen) for SV Sandhausen , BV Cloppenburg and VfB Oldenburg . After a year without a club, he went back to his regular club, the Baden-Württemberg district league club SV Unterweissach. In 2005 he ended his career.

From the beginning of the 2010 season until the beginning of April 2011 he was the coach of the SV Spiegelberg regional division.

From December 2011 to June 2013 he was the coach of the U19 SV Unterweissach.
