Markus Schwaninger

Markus Schwaninger (born December 26, 1947 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian economist. He is an emeritus professor for business administration with a special focus on management theory at the University of St. Gallen .

Schwaninger received his doctorate in 1979 from the University of Innsbruck with a dissertation entitled Organizational Design in the Hotel Industry. He then worked at the Management Center St. Gallen and at the Institute for Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen. His main research interests are in the areas of organizational intelligence , management cybernetics, and system dynamics .
