Markus Völter

Markus Völter (* 1974 in Heidenheim an der Brenz , Germany ) is a German podcaster , author and speaker on the subject of software architecture. He specializes in model-driven software development and domain-specific languages .

Career

After graduating from high school in Heidenheim , Völter began developing software in the 1990s. He was significantly involved in the founding and development of the open-source project openArchitectureWare before it became part of the Eclipse tool platform.

During this time Völter wrote various books on software development and founded the podcast Software Engineering Radio in 2006 , for which he produced 180 episodes. The podcast was taken over by IEEE Software in 2012 , where over 270 episodes are now offered under a Creative Commons license. Between 2009 and 2011 Markus Völter was a member of the editorial team of the SoftwareArchitekTOUR podcast from Heise online .

Völter is currently concentrating on his science and technology podcast omega tau . In this context, the book Once you start asking was published in spring 2020 on some of the topics from the podcast.

Markus Völter works as a freelance software developer and is committed to the open source project mbeddr. This is an integrated language environment based on JetBrains MPS for developing embedded systems using the C programming language .
