Markus Weißkopf

Markus Weißkopf is science communicator , managing director of Wissenschaft im Dialog and president of the European Science Engagement Association (EUSEA).

Life

Markus Weißkopf studied political science and management at the Universities of Konstanz and Madrid . He initially worked as an organizational consultant in Konstanz and was appointed project manager in 2007, later managing director of the House of Science Braunschweig . There he was responsible for setting up the organization and the program, including establishing the Science Slam as a new format for science communication.

On January 1, 2012, he became managing director of Wissenschaft im Dialog gGmbH in Berlin. In addition to a number of existing science communication projects such as MS Wissenschaft or the FastForwardScience video competition, he is responsible for the development of new formats and methods for science communication and statements for politics. In May 2016 he was elected President of the European Science Events Association, now the European Science Engagement Association (EUSEA).
