Marlies Pretzlaff born Halfmann (born August 4, 1943 in Bernburg / Saale ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Bundestag.

Life

Pretzlaff graduated from high school and then completed a pedagogy degree, followed by the first and second teacher exams. After several years in the school service, she decided to stay at home and take care of her two children. During this time she was very involved in various voluntary activities. From 1986 to 1994 she was an honorary judge at the administrative courts of Braunschweig and Göttingen and an assessor in the model committee at the Göttingen District Armed Forces Replacement Office.

Pretzlaff joined the CDU in 1975 and soon became a member of the CDU district committee in Northeim and the CDU district committee in Hildesheim. She was also district and district chairman of the women's union. In the 1994 federal election she was elected to parliament, where she worked until the end of the fourteenth legislative period in 2002.
