Marni Schwonberg

Marni Schwonberg (* in Flensburg ) is a German-Swiss soprano .

After childhood and high school in Flensburg, Schwonberg studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel with Evelyn Tubb . Master classes with Christoph Prégardien , Charles Spencer and Ulf Bästlein complemented her training.

Schwonberg appears as a soloist and sang z. B. under Michael Hoffstetter and Michael Radulescu at the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival and the Bach Academy Porrentruy as well as in several opera productions. In 2010 Schwonberg also sang the soprano part in the first performance of the reconstruction of the lost Bach cantata Everything was born from God (BWV 80a) by the Bach Collegium Zurich, which was created in collaboration with the Leipzig Bach Archive . Also ensemble work.

In radio recordings Schwonberg worked mainly for the Swiss radio DRS . On BR-Klassik she was heard in a recording by Tomás Luis de Victoria ( Vidi speciosam sicut colombam " ). With the orpheus chor münchen , Schwonberg can also be heard as a soloist on an album with Spanish Music from the 16th Century (2001). Another CD was made with the Catholic Church Choir St. Sixtus Zunsweier (2008), where she sings the high female voice in the recording of the Bach cantata Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, BWV 61 .

Schwonberg lives in Basel .
