Herbert Maronn (born September 15, 1959 in Bad Doberan ) is a German football official as well as a former football player and football coach .

From 1971 to 1977, Maronn, who was born in Bad Doberan, worked in the youth department of FC Hansa Rostock and was then active for TSG Bau Rostock , which at that time was participating in the second-class league . From 1983 to 1988 Maronn worked as a youth coach for FC Hansa Rostock, before he became team leader of the Rostock league team for two years. From 1991 to 1997 he held the post of organizational manager in the licensing area, from 1997 he took over the management of the licensing department of FC Hansa. When the Hanseatic League failed to return to the Bundesliga in 2005/06 , Maronn resigned together with CEO Manfred Wimmer in summer 2006; his successor was Stefan Studer . In July 2007 Studer fell out with coach Frank Pagelsdorf , whereupon Maronn returned to the managerial post of FC Hansa. However, Rostock rose again from the Bundesliga in the same season and got into the relegation battle in the second division in the following season. Maronn was then replaced by René Rydlewicz at the end of February 2009 .
