Robert Rosentreter

Robert Rosentreter (born March 11, 1931 in Kuldīga , Latvia , German name: Goldingen ; † February 8, 2015 in Rostock ) was a German military journalist , frigate captain ret. D. and author of political and historical literature.

Life

In 1949/50, Rosentreter, who was born in Kurland , played actively as a runner at Union Bad Freienwalde when he was 18 years old . Rosentreter then studied in Leipzig , became a journalist in 1954 and then worked as an editor for the Mecklenburg Ostsee-Zeitung . From 1955 Rosentreter signed up as a professional officer in the People's Navy of the German Democratic Republic and became a military journalist. Together with Dieter Flohr , Robert Rosentreter published the Edition Marinekalender der DDR from 1983 to 1991 .

1984 doctorate Rosentreter at the Department of History of the University of Rostock to Dr. phil. and ended his officer career in 1990.

Member of FC Hansa Rostock since 1966 , Rosentreter was the club's press spokesman from 1991 to 1995 and became a club chronicler in 1996 . He was also active as chairman of the Rostock maritime society , a registered association that is responsible for educational and public relations work related to shipping, shipbuilding and the maintenance of maritime traditions in the Hanseatic city. Most recently he was an author and editor at Ingo Koch Verlag in Rostock.
